Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage has powerful cleansing, relaxing, pain relieving and immunological effects. Primarily, MLD promotes the flow of lymph and the functioning of lymph vessels that lead to the circulatory system, facilitating the removal of metabolic wastes, excess water, toxins, bacteria and foreign substances from tissue.
MLD uses extremely gentle and rhythmic massage techniques making the treatments very relaxing (many patients have either fallen asleep or settled into a highly relaxed state), however due to the effectiveness of the treatment it is recommended that a first session be no longer than 30minutes.
The effectiveness of MLD is cumulative, therefore one off sessions will have extremely limited results. Courses of MLD are offered at a discounted rate so you can feel the full benefits of the treatment in helping the following:
- Circulation and flow of lymph
- Swelling (particularly around the ankles and the lower legs)
- Digestive problems
- Tissue congestion (before and after operations)
- Minimize scar formation
- Headaches
- Post-mastectomy therapy to reduce oedema and fibrosis
Courses start at a minimum of 5 sessions (£220) but courses of treatment are bespoke for each client.
